Who is the LORD?
“And Pharaoh said, Who is the LORD?…; For I [am] the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour…”
Exodus 5:2; Isaiah 43:3 (KJV)
There are many lost people living in this world today. Many of those lost people have a warped understanding of God or worship a false god. A fraction of those lost people are either resistant to the fact that there is a God, or perhaps don’t believe in a God altogether. Bottom line: all of these people do not know the LORD. Many of them do not seek the LORD. So, what do they do? They look to Christians to show them who the LORD is. Essentially, they are asking us, “Who is the LORD?”
We should never buckle down when someone asks us this question, whether it be directly or indirectly. We should always respond with the Biblical answer, “For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour…” God is our God, He is the Holy One of Israel, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and He alone is our Saviour. There is no other God beside Him, for there is but “one God; and there is none other but he.” (Mark 12:32)
May we never be afraid to say who our God is. May we stand up for our God and be valiant for Him. May we let the world know who the True God is, “for the LORD God omnipotent reigneth.” (Rev. 19:6)
