Isaiah 2 Bible Study (Part 1)
In this second chapter of Isaiah, we see that this chapter is a prophecy of what will happen in the last days. In verse 1, we see that Isaiah prophesies the coming of Christ’s Kingdom. In verse six, we see that wickedness is the impetus for God’s forsaking the nation of Israel. In verse ten, we see that Isaiah exhorts fear, because of the power of God’s might and majesty. Let’s do a verse-by-verse analysis.
Isa 2:2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, [that] the mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
And it shall come to pass in the last days,
(referring to the latter times referred in
Acts 2:17; 2Tim 3:1; Heb 1:2; 2Pet 3:3)
[that] the mountain of the LORD’S house
Isa 30:29; Ps 68:15; Ps 68:16; Dan 2:35; Dan 2:45; Zech 8:3; Rev 20:4; Rev 21:10-27
(Isaiah talks about an elevation of the mountain of the Lord’s temple, which had been built on the spot where Abraham had attempted to offer Isaac. In the Bible, mountains often symbolize stablility and often were associated with divinity. Isaiah’s description indicates that one day the kingdom of the Messiah will be preeminent over all the kingdoms of the earth. The nations (Gentiles) will desire to know God’s truth and will “come ye into the house of the Lord.” , resulting in an unprecedented time of peace.
shall be established in the top of the mountains,
God’s Church will supersede any other false churches or false congregations. It will supersed the great whore of the Roman Catholic Church, the seduced church of Jezebel (Rev. 19:2, Rev. 17:1, Hos. 1:2, Ezek 16:26,)
and shall be exalted above the hills;
God’s Church will be exalted (worshipped, glorified, and praised) above all other churches. All false churches will be utterly cast down and God’s Church will be the place where all people will worship during the dispensation of force, the seventh dispensation, when Christ will rule the whole world for 1,000 years after the Great Tribulation.
and all nations shall flow unto it.
All nations will at some point worship the one and Only True God, during the Millenial Kingdom. That is God’s Plan. (Ezek 37:27)
Ezekiel 37:27 My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
And many people shall go and say,
Many people will go into the house of the Lord.
and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD,
to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways,
Jesus Christ will teach the world the ways of God
and we will walk in his paths:
The saved will follow His Word, and walk in His ways
for out of Zion shall go forth the law,
Jesus preached in Jerusalem in the temple
and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
Jesus preached in Jerusalem daily in the temple.
Isa 2:4 And he shall judge among the nations,
Isa 11:3; Isa 11:4; 1Sam 2:10; Ps 82:8; Ps 96:13; Ps 110:6; John 16:8-11; Acts 17:31
and shall rebuke many people:
Psalms 18:15 Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.
Psalms 76:6 At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.
Psalms 80:16 It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.
Psalms 104:7 At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.
Isaiah 17:13 The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.
God will rebuke all the false churches, and the great whore and mystery babylon, the mother of harlots, and will establish his pure, chaste, virgin: the Bride of Christ, the true Church that Jesus established back in Matthew 16:18.
and they shall beat their swords into plowshares,
(Rev. 13:7) –The beast will make war with the saints, and the LORD will consume him with the Spirit of His Mouth. The enemy will try to desperately defeat God’s Glorious Plan, but praise God, He will not win.
and their spears into pruninghooks:
nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
After the Battle of Armageddon and the Great Tribulation, Jesus Christ will come down to earth and establish his 1,000 year reign known as the Millenial Kingdom. Nation will no longer rise up against nation because Jesus shall rule over all nations.
neither shall they learn war any more.
There will be no more war in the Millenial Kingdom as mentioned in Joel 3:7 and in countless other verses as well.
In the next Bible study we will examine verses 5-9.
